Attitude Determination and Control Systems

These 1/2U Attitude Determination and Control Systems feature 3 reaction wheels, a 3-axis magnetometer, 2 IR Earth Horizon Sensors (IR EHS) or 2 Star Trackers, 3 electromagnets and an ADACS computer for a stand-alone, Plug-and-Play attitude control system for small satellites.

MAI-1000 Attitude Determination and Control System

Our MAI-1000 is a 3-axis Attitude Determination and Control System for nanosats weighing up to 100 kg. It can command three or four external reaction wheels and three electromagnetic torque rods. It incorporates an internally-mounted NovAtel OEM628 GPS and includes L1/L2 antenna for external mounting.

FlatPack Battery
MAI FlatPack Li-ion Battery

Our FlatPacks incorporate four cells in series (4S1P) with battery protection circuitry and thermal control packaging. The Panasonic NCR18650B Lithium-Ion cells have 3,250 mAH capacity at a voltage of 3.7 volts. An MAI-designed Battery Charge Regulator maintains the FlatPacks at a safe level of charge at all times. These FlatPacks have been approved for launch to the ISS and meet the highest standards of safety and reliability for use in SmallSats and CubeSats.
